It's Tom's secret spot, so I can't really say too much about what Seth and I
did this weekend. Let's see,
the camping was awesome - nobody else was around. The hiking was less awesome -
you can ask Seth how many bruises he got, some of which are documented in
the pictures. The climbing was gorgeous, though felt stiffer than in should
have....
On sunday, we checked out Second Quarry, as neither of us had been there
before. We made a few errors of judgement, such as attempting to warm up on a
10c, thinking it was a 5.7. The rock there is very sharp and grainy, which
makes for great face climbing, but rather painful hand jams. Some really fun
climbs there. On the way back to the bay, we also decided to check out Potter's
Rock. After driving by it without seeing it, we found it on the way back - look
for the gnarly tree. Looks like there are some awesome climbs there, though
it's a bit too hot to climb there now. I'll have to check it out in the fall.
